Four out of five North Jersey towns that asked for extraordinary aid received it Tuesday to help offset property tax increases.

The winners were Bergenfield, Ridgefield, Lodi and the city of Passaic, which received a combined $1.7 million.

Lodi received $200,000, and Passaic received $700,000. “I thought it was going to be more, but I guess the way everyone is at this time, with the state, we got something at least,” Mayor Samuel Rivera said.
