TRENTON – Health officials say a small number of local providers in New Jersey have received their initial shipments of the swine flu nasal spray vaccine.

The spray is recommended for healthy people between the ages of 2 and 49 who are not pregnant. Due to the limited initial supply, healthy children and health care workers will be the first to get it.

The injectable form of the vaccine is expected to begin arriving in the state over the next few weeks.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says demand for the vaccine is so far outstripping supply.
