Blackout Knocks Out Service In Passaic

blackoutPassaic-About 1,200 people in the Passaic Park neighborhood of Passaic, lost power early this morning. Authorities said a fire at a transformer triggered the outage which left hundreds with out service, and disabled traffic lights on several Roads.

The Blackout started at 1:00 AM early Sunday morning, and all power was restored by 4:00 AM.

The Blackout took place, while the prominently Jewish orthodox neighborhood, was celebrating the Simchat Torah Holiday. The Simchat Torah Holiday celebrates the completion of the five books of the Torah or Old Testament. The Holiday ended at sundown Sunday evening.
